These presses will be installed in September in the printing plant currently under construction.

One of Europe's leading book printers, Wilco, located in the Netherlands, has replaced the majority of its offset presses. The printing company, which employs 430 people in three locations, has ordered eleven Speedmaster XL 106 presses from Heidelberg. The agreement is "one of the biggest sellers" of equipment in the German manufacturer's history, according to Heidelberg CEO Rainer Hundsdörfer.

Three presses with 18 printing units were ordered last year and now eight presses with 43 units. The eleven presses, all with Push to Stop automation technology, are of different configurations and comprise 61 printing units, including four 8-color perfectors (Speedmaster XL 106 8P) and several UV led presses. The eleven presses with 61 printing units will be installed in September at the site under construction in Amersfoort.

Wilco has also entered into a supply service agreement with the German manufacturer, which ensures that consumables such as ink are delivered as and when required.

"If, like Wilco, a company wants to be able to supply a complete range of products - from books, annual reports and magazines to direct marketing materials and flyers - in the shortest possible time, in the best possible quality and on a sustainable competitive basis, it needs a motivated team, maximum efficiency and state-of-the-art technology says Robert Jan de Rooij, founder and commercial director of Wilco. And when it comes to cutting-edge technology, the range and services offered by Heidelberg totally appealed to us. We see our investment decision as a groundbreaking initiative to increase productivity and focus more on the customer."

"We are seeing a steady increase in investments in the markets and regions that are important to us. The smart printing of the future offers our customers the opportunity to reposition and invest, even in difficult times." says Rainer Hundsdörfer, Heidelberg's CEO.
