Antalis unveils its new Conqueror paper range

The new Conqueror premium paper, which will be available in April, includes three finishes and six shades.

Last November, the Paris-based paper distributor Antalis had announced the acquisition of part of the portfolio of its former historical supplier, the former French paper manufacturer, Arjowiggins Scotland, in bankruptcy .
After unveiling its offers olin premium offset and Keaykolour creative paper today, Antalis presents the new Conqueror range, Arjowiggins' flagship brand, which was produced at Arjo's Scottish plant in Stoneywood, now closed.

Thierry Griselin, Managing Director of Antalis France and Benelux, states: "Buying the brand and its intellectual property allowed us to use the recipe from the original version, with the same blend of cotton fibers, the same quality and the same additional ingredients that make Conqueror special."

Same features as the Arjowiggins Conqueror

This premium Conqueror paper, in cream and white shades, produced since 1888, is made in Europe, Antalis says, without giving further details.

Thierry Griselin adds: "After several trials, and with the help of Arjowiggins' technical experts, we achieved the same level of perfection as the original Conqueror in terms of feel, visual appearance, printability and print rendering."

The experts spent more than two weeks at the factory to validate all possible combinations (color, quality, watermark, weight). "This work was able to be successful because of the coaching we had with the former technical director of Arjo." says the management.

Antalis Conqueror, three finishes and six colors

The new line, which will be launched in April, currently offers fewer finish and color choices than the previous line.

Conqueror is available in three finishes (Laid, Wove and CX22) and six shades (Brilliant white, Diamond White, High White, Oyster, Vellum and Cream), with or without its famous watermark, which remains unchanged.

And the range also includes its range of assorted envelopes and different qualities with special treatment for digital printing (laser and inkjet), in different formats, including A4.

A 100% cotton Conqueror Connoisseur version will also be launched this summer, paper with a finish similar to handmade paper.
