The fire started at around 6 p.m. in a paper compactor located outside the premises on Rue Ettore Bugatti. This equipment, used to compress and reduce the volume of paper and cardboard waste, contained flammable materials. On arrival, firefighters were confronted by thick smoke escaping from a closed shipping container.
Although the incident was quickly brought under control by a team of sixteen firefighters, the container had to be completely unloaded, a delicate operation carried out with the help of a specialized truck. Once the contents were exposed, the firefighters proceeded to extinguish the burning materials. Fortunately, the fire did not spread to neighbouring buildings, and there were no injuries.
The group has around 90 employees and sales of around ?20 million.
