Takeover of Arjowiggins Security: Prime Minister responds to request for support

The Prime Minister has sent a letter in response to the request from Senator Anne Chain-Larché concerning the proposed takeover of the Arjowiggins Security paper mill in Jouy-sur-Morin.

Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has replied in a letter at the request of Senator Anne Chain-Larché concerning the planned takeover of the Arjowiggins Security paper mill in Jouy-sur-Morin (77), the newspaper reveals Le Pays Briard (actu.fr).

In a letter dated 6 January, Edouard Philippe allegedly ruled out the hypothesis of a financial commitment by the State in the Société coopérative et participative (Scop) project carried by former employees of the plant.

On 27 November last, Senator Anne Chain-Larché (LR) of Seine-et-Marne sent a letter to the Prime Minister asking him to support the plan to take over the Arjowiggins plant at Jouy-sur-Morin. "?Ce project led by 4 former employees would maintain 84 jobs on territoire?" the senator tweeted.

But according to Le Pays Briard The Prime Minister is reported to have replied that there are still too many weaknesses in the proposed takeover and that it would be irresponsible to encourage employees in this direction. "?L 'State cannot guarantee the majority of financial support for a project industrielle?" he would have explained in his letter.

Nearly a year after it was placed in judicial liquidation by the Nanterre Commercial Court, two takeover projects are still being carried out by former employees: the project Padec in the form of a scop, and the project Smart Security Paper .

According to the Senator, the takeover of the plant would make it possible to maintain the production of up to 3,000 tons per year of banknotes and security documents while developing the manufacture of arts and leisure papers.
