Floch fills up on literary awards and announces investment

Good harvest of literary prizes for the Floch printing company, which announces its first significant investment since its recovery.

Like every year, the major literary prizes for the fall have been awarded, bringing excitement to publishers and book printers. Among the large companies sharing this market, the Floch printing company can look forward to a good harvest in 2021.

The company, based in Mayenne, France, has won the following literary prizes Femina ( Adapting by Clara Dupont-Monod (Stock); the Medicis ( The Journey to the East by Christine Angot (Flammarion); the Medicis Essay ( Like a sky inside us by Jakuta Alikavazovic (Stock); the Goncour t for one third of the circulation ( The most secret memory of men by Mohamed Mbougar Sarr (Philippe Rey); the Best Foreign Book Award ( Children of the Volga by Gouzel Iakhina (published by Noir sur blanc); the Price on Friday ( Chromium love by Sylvain Pattieu (Ecole des Loisirs); the Goncourt des Lycéens ( Adapting by Clara Dupont-Monod (Stock); and the Femina des Lycéens ( The laughter of the goddesses by Ananda Devi (Grasset).

Hubert Pédurand, President of Floch and CEO of Scop Laballery, thanks the publishers for maintaining their confidence in Floch since the takeover by Laballery in 2016:

Investment in a new Komori press

Hubert Pédurand also announced the first significant investment by Floch since its turnaround:

"Specialized in the printing of black books, our equipment is among the most efficient of the French market. Our large-width rotogravure presses allow us to print up to 170,000 books per day. A strike force that will be completed from January 2022 with a brand new Komori in 5 colors + varnish unit for our coverseuros".

An acquisition "which foreshadows new investments in addition to a reflection on external growth", says Hubert Pédurand.
