Metsä Group is recruiting for its 850 summer jobs. And you don't need to speak Finnish!

Since 2015, Metsä Group, a Finnish paper and pulp manufacturer, has been continuously investing to increase and develop its production. To date, more than 6 billion euros have been spent on these investments, mostly in Finland: construction of bioproduct mills, birch plywood mills, new production lines at various sites, renovation of a paper mill in Sweden and most recently construction of a pine sawmill in Rauma, the most modern sawmill in the world according to Metsä Group.

All these investments obviously create jobs in Finland and abroad. Currently Metsä Group has 9,500 employees in 30 countries.

A special feature of this Finnish group is that summer workers replace permanent staff during the vacation period. And Metsä Group participates in the Responsible Summer Job campaign, which challenges employers to offer many good summer jobs to young people.

"Our investments create new opportunities for our summer employees as well. There are now new paths to professional life for people with skills in various fields." says Pertti Hietaniemi, Senior Vice President Human Resources of Metsä Group.

Metsä Group has therefore launched a recruitment campaign for 850 summer jobs throughout Finland since December 7. The skills required are manifold. The summer jobs range from wood procurement, forestry services, production and maintenance to laboratory, logistics, customer services, research and development, etc.

"For example, we are looking for summer employees for the first time for the world's most modern sawmill in Rauma. The new sawmill employs about 100 people and summer employees are also needed. At the beginning of 2023, the new timber supply district in Kajaani will be operational and we are also looking for summer employees to work there." says Pertti Hietaniemi.

Applications for these summer jobs, for which knowledge of Finnish is not essential, are open until February 28, 2023.
