The Cepi has a new president

Karl-Henrik Sundström, former CEO of Stora Enso, leaves his place to Ignazio Capuano, CEO of Burgo.

The European Confederation of the Paper Industry based in Brussels, Belgium (Cepi) presents its new president who replaces Karl-Henrik Sundström, former CEO of Stora Enso: Ignazio Capuano.

Ignazio Capuano has been CEO of the Italian paper group Burgo since 2016 and vice-president of the Italian association of paper manufacturers Assocarta.
He holds an engineering degree and a master's degree in economics from New York University. In the paper industry, he was Managing Director of the Saffa Group (now merged with Reno de Medici), then CEO of the Italian paper group Reno de Medici. He has also worked in the utilities sector as CEO of RWE Italy, in the banking sector with Manufacturers Hanover Trust of New York (now JP Morgan Chase) and in the strategic consulting sector with KPMG.

"I am proud to take over the Presidency of the European Confederation of the Paper Industry with the recent announcement of the Green New Deal (with the 4evergreen project ), said the new president of Cepi about his election. A great challenge that the paper industry has already taken up by paving the way for even more competitive and sustainable production, pointing to solutions based on innovation and circularity for a carbon-neutral Europe by 2050".

Ignazio Capuano Capuano's term of office is two years, from January 2020 to the end of 2021.
