Business has resumed at Brodard et Taupin

Nearly 70% of the staff has returned to the printing plant, which has a full order book for the coming weeks.

At La Flèche in the Sarthe region of France (72), the Brodard et Taupin printing plant, which specializes in book printing, has resumed 70% of its activity. Around 80 of the company's 115 employees returned to work at the beginning of the week with a full order book again, explains France Bleu Maine .

The printing plant had been closed since March 20, not because of containment but because of a drop in orders. However, maintenance operations were being carried out in order to keep the machines in good working order and to anticipate the restart.

The director of the Virginie Hamm-Boulard printing works states in the information site that all the measures necessary to protect employees, including the obligation to wear a mask, have been put in place.

The order book is full again thanks to the release before the summer of books with large print runs by successful authors, including Guillaume Musso. Virginie Hamm-Boulard points out, however, that the company has little visibility beyond May.

The Brodard et Taupin printing works of the CPI Print group invested at the beginning of the year in two new palletizing robots (transfer of book bundles under film on pallets) for a total amount of 250?000 euros. An investment that allows to automate a difficult handling task while reducing production costs.

As a reminder, the CPI Group was bought by the Dutch printing and press group Circle Media Group in 2018 and sold a year later to the private wealth management fund of the entrepreneur and investor, Richard Hughes, and his family (RHWO).
