Graphic Packaging develops alternative solutions to plastic packaging

The American cardboard manufacturer Graphic Packaging continues to develop alternative solutions to plastic packaging. After the launch a few weeks ago of ProducePack In early March, it introduced Cap-It, a solution designed to "help beverage consumers switch from plastic to paper".

Made from recyclable flatboard, Cap-It is a tie with neck rings for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) bottles. The fastener made from renewable materials is an alternative to traditional shrink-wrap packaging, increasing the overall recyclability of the package to 100 percent, the group says.

100% of its products fully recyclable by 2025

Roxanne McSpadden, marketing and new product development manager for drinks at Graphic Packaging, explains:

"Graphic Packaging's wide range of sustainable beverage carton solutions are suitable for multiple configurations of cans, glass bottles and PET bottles.»

As part of its Vision 2025, Graphic Packaging aims to make 100% of its products fully recyclable by 2025. The group specialises in sustainable carton-based packaging solutions for food, beverage, foodservice and other consumer products.
