Italian Lucart invests in a new production line in the Vosges

The Lucart plant in Laval-sur-Vologne recovers about 70,000 tons of paper and about 15,000 tons of food cartons per year.

Lucart invests in a new production line in its French factory for an amount of 3 million euros. "This ninth continuous flow line should enable the production of 15,000 tons of industrial rolls per year. 80% of the production will be made from recycled paper (waste paper and food cartons) and the remaining 20% from virgin fibres says the manufacturer.

The Italian group Lucart, which manufactures hygiene products from paper and cardboard food cartons, is established in France with its plant in Laval-sur-Vologne in the Vosges. To produce its product lines, the plant recovers about 70,000 tons of paper and about 15,000 tons of food cartons per year. Food cartons are recyclable and are composed of an average of 75% cardboard.

"This new line has a double objective: to absorb the very significant increase in the production volume of our wiping and toilet paper products and, in the long term, to simplify the production line and improve the organization of the plant, explains Alessandro Pasquini, President of Lucart for France.

The Laval-sur-Vologne plant achieved a turnover of around 100 million euros in 2020. Since its establishment in 2008, the plant has doubled its turnover and has also greatly increased its workforce with 292 employees in 2019 (compared to 228 at the opening).

Founded in 1953 by the Pasquini family, Lucart had a turnover of 500 million euros in 2020 with 1600 employees. The group has an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons.
