Fibre Excellence Provence launches its major maintenance and modernization shutdown of the plant. Ten million euros are being invested for this project, which will last several weeks and involve a thousand workers, the group announced. The company plans to invest 180 million euros over four years to "bring the plant up to the best industrial and environmental standards".
500 preventive maintenance operations
More than 500 preventive maintenance operations will be carried out (early treatment of obsolescence, preventive replacement of parts or equipment, etc.). Other operations are planned, including the repair of the boiler floor and the renovation of the economizers. The digester, which plays an important role in the process of extracting cellulose from wood, will be cleaned, the company says.
The shutdown also allows us to prepare for the installation of the new Biowatt turbine on the site, scheduled for the end of 2022. This project aims to produce more electricity from biomass by recovering the by-products of paper pulp production.
