Kornit Digital acquires German Tesoma

Kornit Digital will acquire Tesoma, to enhance its suite of end-to-end solutions for on-demand digital fashion and textile production.

Israeli digital textile printing solutions manufacturer Kornit Digital signed a definitive agreement in late January to acquire Lichtenau, Germany-based Tesoma. Tesoma, which has 100 employees, specializes in drying solutions for glass, textile and graphic printing.

"Tesoma's technology and solutions align with Kornit's strategy to add intelligent automation capabilities to its on-demand production solutions." This complementarity must allow "improve productivity, optimize quality and reduce total cost of ownership, all in a more sustainable production environment." say both companies.

Kornit wants to rethink the fashion production process to create a more sustainable on-demand system. "Digitization of the production floor is a key pillar of our strategy and the acquisition of Tesoma will allow us to continue to accelerate our mission to transform this industry with innovative and sustainable on-demand textile production solutions." said Ronen Samuel, CEO of Kornit Digital.

He said at the investor conference on February 15: "Tesoma sells products that are not all in the textile market. Gradually, we will change Tesoma's focus to the textile market. There will be products that we will fully integrate with our solutions and that will be fully connected to our solutions."

The acquisition is expected to be completed by April 1, 2022.
