Belgian Asteria consolidates its presence in Ireland with the acquisition of Label World

With this third location, Asteria strengthens its foothold in the Irish label market.

Asteria expands with a third printing plant in Ireland. With the acquisition of Label World, the Belgium-based label manufacturer completes its existing activities in Ireland, alongside Label Craft acquired in 2023 and Label Tech purchased last year.
Based in Dublin, Label World, founded in 1998 by Declan O'Rourke, specializes in flexographic and digital printing, and offers extended content labels (ECL), booklets, leaflets and cartons for the pharmaceutical, food and beverage markets.

Label World, "a logical step

Label World will continue to operate under its current brand name, with an unchanged management team. This approach enables Asteria to ensure business continuity for the Irish company's customers and partners, while integrating the site's specific skills into the Group's European network.

In a press release, Ives Declerck, CEO of Asteria Group, stresses that this acquisition is "a logical step in the Group's growth strategy, which aims to diversify its product portfolio while consolidating its local capacities.

Asteria, from Belgium to Europe

Founded in Belgium in 1985, Asteria has expanded over the years through external growth. Today, the Belgian label manufacturer has over 30 production sites in 22 European countries, each with its own technical specialties. The family-owned group prides itself on an industrial model based on flexibility, short production lead-times and local expertise.

In addition to its strategy of territorial networking, Asteria claims to be aiming for a position as a "âeuros¯reference local partnerâeuros¯" for the label and packaging markets. The printer also invests in eco-designed solutions, and claims to be able to offer a sustainable alternative for 90% of its labels.
