Lyon-based start-up Superpictor helps textile and promotional products retailers prepare their orders and simplify their sales thanks to digital technology. Chronicle of a great success.

Making it easier for dealers to do business

The idea of Superpictor was born from the common observation of the three founders, Dan, Benoit and Jérémy: " Textile and object personalization involved many long and tedious steps. Exchanges between stakeholders (client, sales representative, graphic designer) are generally a waste of time and a source of errors. "

Then active in another company, they decided in 2016 to develop internally a solution of digitization of the process the company's innovation, which is based on the use of a "customization tool", makes it possible to streamline these interactions in order to produce better and more quickly. Two years later, in 2018, they tested their innovation at the CTCO trade show, a key event in the personalization sector, and met with great success: in addition to being efficient, their tool presents an exclusive advance because no other player is positioned on this market. Superpictor is launched!

Automation of proofs

Superpictor offers a subscription system to its platform of the same name for assist professionals in the resale of personalized objects and textiles . The tool automates the production of proofs, thus lightening the load of the graphic designer, who is often overwhelmed by this type of task without real added value. Easy to use and designed to be very intuitive, the Superpictor platform integrates a database of textile and object specificities, notably on marking locations . Thus, sales people take charge of this step by delivering to their customers a preview of their customized product, with as many versions as they want. Internal/external exchanges are faster and the greatly reduced margin of error the start-up promises to reduce order errors by up to 80%.

Once the proof of concept is validated and according to the needs of the reseller, Superpictor extends its offer to the preparation of the production file this is the case for all the different techniques: printing or embroidery. There are several options, available from the "Basics" version:

  • vectorization of the file ;
  • logo trimming ;
  • cut-contours ;
  • redesign, etc.

Recent fundraising boosts the start-up's super growth

In February, Superpictor received a fundraising of one million euros with various local and international investors (United States, Hong Kong, etc.). Through this capital increase, the young start-up plans to double its staff in 2022, from 15 to 30 employees. For the time being, the positions to be filled are oriented towards the consolidation of the tool: web and data technology.

The objective of Superpictor is to cover the customer's needs from A to Z from the request to the delivery of the product. This is why the three complementary partners, Dan Kong-A-Siouv in technical development, Benoit Deves in sales and Jérémy Compagnat in charge of networking, intend to develop the platform and extend their positioning on European markets, starting with Germany and England, where nothing similar exists.
