Fespa 2022, a dynamic edition, a sign of the recovery of activity

Many exhibitors, including manufacturers Durst and Kornit Digital Europe, expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the contacts and conversations.

It's time to take stock of the Fespa Global Print Expo 2022 large format trade show. The edition held from May 31 to June 3, 2022 in Berlin, Germany was the first real edition since the covid-19 pandemic.

"Finally, we were able to deliver a full Fespa experience to exhibitors and visitors that felt like a return to form, and the consensus that was emerging was that the show atmosphere was incredible." said Michael Ryan, director of Global Print Expo at Fespa.

Fespa Global Print Expo 2022, together with the exhibition dedicated to non-printed signs and visual communications, European Sign Expo, received 375 exhibiting companies .

Together, they have attracted 11,647 unique visitors this represents a 48% increase over the fall 2021 lean event, with multi-day returns, bringing the total attendance to 15,969 visits. These visitors came from 126 countries, including Germany, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

However, the show has not yet returned to its pre-covid level: the 2019 Fespa, also held over four days, had 700 exhibitors and just over 20,000 unique visitors (not including the European Sign Expo).

But with 60% of decision makers on their companies' investments (up from 30% in 2019), many exhibitors expressed satisfaction with the quality of the contacts and conversations.

Christoph Gamper, CEO of Durst, told the organizer: "It was one of the best experiences I and my team members have had at a trade show to date."

"We really had the best-selling show ever, said Kathrin Buhl, Director of Sales and Marketing EMEA at Kornit Digital Europe. People came here to sign contracts and do business, so for us it was a very successful show and we're happy to be back."

"The significant buying power of our visitors and the large international audience are all evidence of the recovery of our global community. We are seeing a return of confidence, which is driving business leaders to invest, but also to return to business travel, live events and face-to-face networking when they know it will provide tangible value." said Neil Felton, CEO of Fespa.

The next Fespa shows will be held in Mexico, Asia and Brazil. For the next European event, we will have to wait until May 2023.
