Agfa expands its range of large-format inkjet printers with three new machines and renames the range Powerful by Nature. All printers are now named after animals "which perfectly reflect their bestial power" and are adorned with their totem animal printed in silver ink.
Jeti Condor RTR5200 HS, the 5.2-metre-wide roll-to-roll machine
At the Fespa 2024 trade show held in the Netherlands from March 19 to 22, the Jeti Condor RTR5200 HS was officially launched the Belgian manufacturer's partnership with Efi .
Available now, the Jeti Condor RTR5200 HS is a roll-to-roll inkjet printer based on Efi's Vutek Q5r. This new Jeti, which works with Agfa's Asanti Workflow, prints up to 5.2 meters wide, at speeds of up to 672 m 2 /h.
The Jeti Condor handles a wide range of flexible substrates and up to three rollers simultaneously. It prints in CMYK and can be enhanced on site with light cyan, light magenta, light black plus white and varnish.
"The printer significantly outperforms its competitors thanks to its multiple media management solutions for heavy and large rolls, as well as its wide range of cost, labor and space-saving options, but also to instantly automate the entire printing and finishing process." assures Agfa.
The Jeti Bronco H3300 S, the 3.3 m printer for rigid and flexible substrates
Available from late summer, the Jeti Bronco H3300 is a high-end hybrid inkjet printer based on the Tauro model. A 3.3 m led UV printer, it prints in six colors (CMYK, Cc, Mc) plus white, with optional primer, on a wide range of signage and display materials.
This machine, named after spirited horses, can be fed continuously with cardboard as well as rolls. Dual-roll printing enables the simultaneous printing of rolls or various media of different sizes.
Initially, the Bronco will be available with two rows of printheads. Later, it will be possible to double the number of printheads to increase productivity.
Anapurna Ciervo H3200, the "versatile" hybrid printer
Agfa is also expanding its Anapurna range, launched over 20 years ago, with the 3.2-meter, 6-color (CMYK, Cc, Mc) plus white Anapurna Ciervo H3200 hybrid.
Described as "agile", "versatile", offering a "exceptional print quality" the Ciervo (Spanish for deer), now available, handles a wide range of printing jobs on uncoated rigid substrates such as exhibition and advertising panels, as well as on roll media such as film, vinyl, banners, canvas and coated textiles.
UV led curing extends the range of printable substrates, including thin, heat-sensitive foils, PET and microgrooves.
The Anapurna Ciervo H3200 is faster than previous models, with print speeds almost 70% higher in Production mode.
Its continuous cardboard feed capability ensures printing on rigid materials, up to four cartons simultaneously.
And two other machines: the Jeti Tauro H3300 UHS and the Onset Grizzly X3 HS
Agfa also presented two other machines at Fespa.
Visitors were able to see the 3.3 m wide Jeti Tauro H3300 UHS large-format hybrid inkjet printer, which prints up to 905 m 2 /h and offers several automation options.
The Belgian manufacturer also unveiled the Onset Grizzly X3 HS, formerly named Onset X3 HS. With speeds of up to 1,450 m 2 /h and numerous automation options, including loading and unloading robots, this flatbed inkjet press running Agfa's Greenguard Gold-certified inks is designed for the production of high-volume graphics and packaging jobs, even in indoor and sensitive environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.
With its new white printing mode, the Onset applies white ink 40% faster than non-Agfa inks.
Powerful by Nature, a range of 12 large-format printers
With these three new machines, the Powerful by Nature range now comprises 12 models.
