The Mimaki UJV200, a new series of UV roll-to-roll printers launched at Fespa 2026

With the UJV200 series, Mimaki offers two versatile and easy-to-use UV roll-to-roll printers.

Mimaki launches the UJV200 series, comprising the UJV200-160 and UJV200-130 models. This range of UV roll-to-roll inkjet printers will be exhibited for the first time in Europe at the Fespa Global Print Expo 2026, May 19-22, 2026, in Barcelona, Spain.

Versatile applications and automated cutting

The UJV200 series, based on a print engine derived from the 330 series, handles signage, visual communication and technical display applications, with a high degree of consistency in solids, gradations and text finesse, according to the Japanese manufacturer.

Arjen Evertse, Sales Director at Mimaki Europe, explains: "The UJV200 has been designed to support both well-established printers and those looking to move into UV printing, offering a reliable and flexible solution that adapts to different types of production."

The machine incorporates an automatic dot adjustment system (DAS2). This device adjusts print quality without operator intervention, even on transparent or colored substrates.

What's more, the combined use of white and transparent inks enables multi-layer printing in up to three passes. This makes it ideal for window applications, backlit media, labels and decorative elements requiring depth effects or controlled opacity.

The UJV200 models are compatible with the Japanese manufacturer's cutting plotters thanks to the ID Cut function, which automates printing and cutting operations.

All the advantages of UV printing

UV technology enables inks to dry instantly, so prints can be handled straight from the press. This feature reduces production times and eliminates degassing phases. What's more, this low-temperature polymerization process broadens the range of compatible substrates, particularly for heat-sensitive materials.

The absence of pre- and post-heating contributes to lower energy consumption compared with thermal technologies. The ELS-170 UV inks used contain no SVHC or CMR substances.

Application-oriented demonstrations at Fespa

At Fespa, Mimaki will be presenting the UJV200 and other solutions.
"Our aim at Fespa 2026 is to show what our technology can achieve in real-life applications, explains Danna Drion, General Manager of Marketing and Product Management at Mimaki Europe. Visitors will be able to discover how different solutions come together to foster creativity, flexibility and business growth, from signage and graphics to customized and promotional applications."
