Anders Nilsson, former president of Fespa from 2007 to 2010, has passed away at the age of 75. A member of Fespa?s board of directors for 21 years, Nilsson, who headed the Swedish printing company Gamleby Screen AB, played a key role during a pivotal period in the history of the trade association for screen printing','www.printindustry.news/search/serigraphy');" class="lien-auto-article" href="https://www.printindustry.news/search/serigraphy">screen printing and large-format digital printing.
Under his presidency, between 2007 and 2010, Fespa continued to expand outside Europe and notably strengthened its network of associations in Asia. In a press release, the international organization also notes that this period coincided with the accelerated adoption of digital technologies in the large-format printing industry, a few years after the launch of Fespa Digital.
After his term ended, Anders Nilsson remained actively involved with Fespa by becoming its ambassador for Asia. He helped develop relationships with trade associations and regional partners to strengthen the federation?s presence in those markets, according to the federation, which is paying tribute to him.
His involvement also extended to Fespa Sweden. A member of the Swedish association since 1994, he held various positions there for more than three decades. In 2023, the organization awarded him the title of honorary president.
Daniel Sunderland, current president of Fespa , states: "Anders was a dear friend and a beloved colleague who made a lasting contribution to Fespa during an exciting and transformative period for our organization. His ability to build bridges between people in different regions helped shape the Fespa we know today."
With his passing, Fespa has lost yet another key figure in its history, just a few weeks after the departure of Frenchman Michel Caza, co-founder of Fespa International.
