Change of presidency at Fespa announced at opening of Berlin show

At the opening of Fespa global print expo 2025, the international federation announced the appointment of Mexican printer Daniel Sunderland as its new president.

The international federation Fespa has a new president. The organization, which federates 37 national screen and wide-format printing associations, made the appointment of Mexican printer Daniel Sunderland official at the opening of Fespa global Print Expo 2025 in Germany. This 19th president succeeds Frenchman Christophe Aussenac in this position since 2021 .

The inauguration ceremony was held on May 6 at Messe Berlin in Germany, in the presence of delegates from member associations. Daniel Sunderland took the opportunity to reiterate his commitment to the collaborative spirit that drives Fespa: "As a printer myself, I appreciate the important role Fespa plays. I want to continue the work accomplished by my predecessors and maintain our active support for the entire graphics community."

Daniel Sunderland's career is rooted in professional networks

Currently head of Canagraf, a Mexican printing company, Daniel Sunderland has been vice-president of Fespa Mexico for several years. He also represents the federation within Conlatingraf, a coalition of 14 graphics associations in Latin America.

His professional career has been marked by a strong involvement in the regional structuring of the sector. Through training, promotion and networking initiatives, he has contributed to the emergence of new relays for specialist printers in a geographical area still under-represented in international bodies.

A presidency in continuity with that of Christophe Aussenac

His mandate follows that of Christophe Aussenac, founder of the French company ATC, who focused on the ecological transition of the sector and the expansion of the Fespa network. Daniel Sunderland intends to maintain this balance between accompanying technological change and supporting local markets.

Present throughout the week in Berlin, he will be taking part in meetings with national associations and conferences organized as part of the show. The show features over 580 exhibitors, and covers the fields of personalization, large-format printing and signage, among others.

A mandate based on dialogue

In a rapidly evolving sector, faced with the rise of automation technologies, the expansion of on-demand solutions and increasing pressure on production costs, the federation intends to play a strategic interface role. Daniel Sunderland stressed the importance of anticipating members' needs in terms of skills, investment and innovation.

Its first objective will be to consolidate partnerships between national structures, encourage the exchange of best practices and strengthen Fespa's presence on regional stages that are still not fully integrated into the international network.
