Fespa Foundation calls for donations from professionals in Barcelona
The Fespa Foundation will be present at Fespa 2026, Hall 3 Stand C95 from May 19 to 22 in Barcelona, inviting exhibitors and visitors to support its actions in favor of disadvantaged schools.
Launched in 2025 under the banner Print for Good, this organization has already supported five schools with donations of printed materials, equipment and funding.
For 2026, the Back to School campaign will focus on providing books, educational posters, clothing and school supplies, some of which will be produced directly at the show.
Several industry players are backing the operation, including Arlon, Brother, Canon, Digidelta, Durst, Kongsberg, Mimaki, Roland and Summa.
The foundation's aim is to remind people that the printing industry can also be a lever for social impact, over and above its technological and commercial performance.
ABSR France welcomes a major Chinese signage delegation
ABSR France, a specialist in large-format digital printing and signage based in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, welcomed a large delegation of Chinese industry professionals to its site.
The delegation represented an association with 30âeuros000Â members, within a Chinese signage and visual communication market estimated at 350âeuros000Â players.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss industrial know-how, business models and market prospects.
For ABSR France, managed since 2025 by Nicolas Baret, this meeting is recognition of its production facilities and expertise in large-format printing, signage, window graphics and brand deployment.
The printer stresses the importance of international dialogue to fuel its strategic thinking and support the development of its business.
A patented cardboard box for detergent capsules from STI
German packaging manufacturer STI, which employs over 2,000 people, launches the One-Piece Click Box, a patented packaging solution for laundry detergent capsules.
The new design is based on a one-piece corrugated structure incorporating a tamper-proof, resealable closure with a child safety feature. The aim is to combine product protection, safety and ease of use.

According to Arnaud Rive, Director of Business Development at STI, this innovation is also designed to optimize logistics and industrial operations: flat-rate delivery, simplified filling for packers, and a reduction in the complexity of materials and stock references.

Smurfit Westrock: possible closure of a UK site
Packaging manufacturer Smurfit Westrock, which operates in 40 countries with over 500 production sites worldwide, is launching a consultation process that could lead to the closure of the SSK paper mill in Birmingham, England, which produces around 200,000 tonnes of fluting and liner for the British and Irish corrugated board markets. 130 employees are affected.
Lecta's new generation of sugar-based beverage cartons
Lecta presents EraCup Natural Pure, a new bleached paperboard (SBB) for paper cups featuring a plastic-free, biosourced barrier.
This substrate incorporates a barrier coating based on natural plant sugars, combined with a special varnish applied to the sealing zones. This combination enables the production of cups compliant with the European Single-Use Plastic Directive (SUPD), without recourse to conventional plastic coatings.
Available in weights from 200 to 320 g/m 2 eraCup Natural Pure has a smooth, uncoated surface suitable for flexographic and offset printing.
The cardboard is fully repulpable and recyclable in standard paper mills.
As part of this launch, the manufacturer has teamed up with Comexi to offer an integrated industrial solution to facilitate the transition to high-performance, plastic-free paper cups.
3D Prod buys Sculpteo and aims for ?20 million
Vosgian 3D Prod, based in Raon-l'Étape, takes over Sculpteo, based in Villejuif in the Val-de-Marne, which has 50 employees and sales of 8.6 million euros. 3D Prod's ambition is to create a European-scale 3D printing group.
The new entity will have 100 employees, and sales of 17 million euros, with 1.2 million parts produced per year and 7,000 corporate customers.
By 2030, the Group is aiming for sales of 20 million euros, thanks in particular to international expansion.
Publi24 becomes majority shareholder of Breen
Publi24, the Le Mans-based sign and visual communication manufacturer with sales of 2â?5 million euros, has become the majority shareholder in Breen, a Manche-based company specializing in the design of stands, furniture and scenography entirely in cardboard.
The two companies have been working together since 2015, when Hugo Duval, founder of Breen, entrusted Publi24 with his first cardboard printing and die-cutting projects, as part of a local partnership, says Ouest France .
With this acquisition, Publi24 and Breen have strengthened their partnership to provide an integrated offer combining printing, die-cutting and the design of cardboard event systems, in a growing market driven by environmental issues.
