Kornit Digital launches a new generation of its Presto platform with the Presto Max Plus, geared towards technical textiles and high-stress applications. The Israeli manufacturer thus extends the use of digital pigment printing to segments such as footwear, automotive and performance fabrics.
The Presto Max Plus roll-to-roll textile printer retains the Presto features, which are based on one-step production, without pre-treatment or washing, and compatible with a wide range of fabrics.
Its main development is the integration of DuraTech, a module that improves resistance to abrasion, bending and wear. This characteristic is a prerequisite for access to markets such as shoe uppers and technical textiles.
Precise Overprint technology completes the picture by adjusting image positioning to variations in substrate dimensions, particularly on unstable or pre-knitted textiles.
The Presto Max Plus allows the use of functional inks providing specific properties, notably in terms of mechanical resistance. According to the manufacturer, these processes are already used in shoe manufacturing.
The textile printing machine also includes white printing on dyed textiles and an extension of colorimetric ranges. Quality control is based on the QualiSet device, which automates calibration and ensures repeatability.
"Digital production is entering a new phase of industrial adoption, extending to high-performance sectors that demand durability, precision and consistency on a large scale." says Ronen Samuel, Managing Director of Kornit Digital.
Presto Max users can upgrade their installations to this version, with access to new applications without having to replace their entire equipment.
