Agfa joins the Paperboard Packaging Council in North America

Agfa has joined the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC), a North American association of folding carton manufacturers and their suppliers.

This move comes at a time when Agfa has recently strengthened its presence in the folding carton segment with the launch of the SpeedSet Orca a water-based inkjet press for printing folding cartons. The Belgian group is keen to participate in the association's work and share its expertise in inkjet printing, color management and workflow automation.

The PPC brings together converters and suppliers to promote exchange, training and innovation within the folding carton industry.

Mimaki updates its 3D Print Prep Pro software

This June, Mimaki Europe is launching version 2.0 of its 3D Print Prep Pro software (3DP3v2), dedicated to data preparation for 3D printing.

This update includes functions for generating lattice structures, as well as the conversion of new types of data, including topographic surveys from drones and data from computed tomography (CT) scanners. The software will enable these conversions to be carried out within a single environment.

Initially offered in cloud mode, 3DP3v2 will also be able to operate offline with the brand's 3D printers.

Norske Skog Skogn to launch Nor Book paper in the second quarter of 2026

Norske Skog Skogn, the Norwegian site of the Norske Skog paper group, plans to launch a new range of book paper called Nor Book in the second quarter of 2026. This new product has required an investment of NOK 40 million (?3.6 million) to upgrade a paper machine to produce both newsprint and high-quality book paper.
Annual production capacity will exceed 140,000 tonnes. Manufactured from virgin fibers, Nor Book will feature low CO2 emissions.

Rénov'Livres awarded EPV label

Rénov'Livres, a 40-strong workshop specializing in book restoration and binding located in Ludres, Meurthe-et-Moselle, has been awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label. Awarded by the French government, this distinction recognizes French companies with outstanding craftsmanship or industrial know-how.

This recognition underscores the workshop's mastery of traditional bookbinding and restoration techniques, as well as the perpetuation of rare skills in the crafts.

Antalis acquires German packaging and POP manufacturer

Antalis has acquired Hein Verpackungen, a German manufacturer specializing in corrugated board packaging and point-of-sale displays.
Hein Verpackungen employs around 50 people and achieved sales of around ?8 million in 2025. The company designs custom packaging and displays for customers in the automotive, food and electronics sectors.

With this acquisition, Antalis aims to consolidate its position in the European packaging market, particularly in Germany, the continent's largest market. It will also enable the Group to strengthen its expertise in industrial and technical packaging, while expanding its range of sustainable solutions.

Kornit Digital acquires publisher PrintFactory

Kornit Digital has completed the acquisition of PrintFactory, a Dutch publisher of cloud-based workflow, color management and automation solutions. This operation is part of the groupâ??s strategy to connect the entire âeuros textile value chain, from demand generation to production and delivery, within an integrated digital ecosystem.

PrintFactoryâ??s technology, deployed at over 10,000 sites worldwide, should facilitate the digitalization of the screen printing','www.printindustry.news/search/serigraphy');" class="lien-auto-article" href="https://www.printindustry.news/search/serigraphy">screen printing market, still largely dominated by analog processes. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026.

32nd issue of Graphisme en France devoted to the book

The Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) publishes the 32nd issue of Graphisme en France, a magazine for graphic designers, clients and students published since 1994.

This new edition is devoted to the book, the central object of graphic design, approached through its formal, material and editorial dimensions. The contributions examine the minimal forms of the book, its modes of circulation and the attention paid to specific formats.
