Agfa's first SpeedSet Orca press installed in the UK

The 11,000-sheet-per-hour speed of Agfa's new SpeedSet Orca 1060 inkjet press, together with its 1200 DPI and ink-based inks, won the printer over.

The Delta Group, one of the UK's largest printers, is the first company in the world to equip itself with Agfa's new inkjet press, the SpeedSet Orca 1060 launched last December.

Based in London and headed by Jason Hammond, the 600-strong English group specializes in visual communications, providing multi-channel marketing services in Europe for the retail, FMCG, cinema, games and OOH sectors.

The speed and quality of this single-cylinder press impressed the English printer. Water-based inks were also a major factor in the decision to invest in this press for Delta, which has won various sustainability awards in recent years.

Designed for the 2 mm thick solid board and microflute market, the single-pass SpeedSet Orca can print up to 11,000 B1 format panels per hour at up to 1200 DPI resolution.

"The Delta Group will be pushing and testing the SpeedSet Orca to the max, and benefiting every day from high-quality production for its business." explained Vincent Wille, President of Agfa's Digital Print & Chemicals division.

"Thanks to the flexibility of inkjet printing, the press offers competitive print runs to compensate for current print volumes and provide total agility for a wider range of job changes. This enables companies to accept smaller-run jobs and run them faster than ever before." adds Agfa.
