Cardboard in the spotlight at a major international tennis tournament

DS Smith, partner of the Open Stade Français U14, will provide cardboard furniture and will lead a workshop on the circular economy.

The cardboard will be particularly well highlighted during the Open Stade Français U14 tennis tournament. This event, which brings together the world's best young tennis players from June 26 to July 10, 2022 in the Paris region, will be fitted out with cardboard furniture.

The British packaging manufacturer DS Smith, partner of this international tournament, will equip the village with reception counters, tables, but also stools and chairs in cardboard. And most of the cups will also be made of cardboard.

The paper group will also run a workshop on the circular economy for competitors from 50 countries, to raise awareness of sustainable development issues.
Created with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation for 11 to 14 year olds, this workshop in English will explain the difference between the linear and circular economy and why recycling is important.

Recently, in France, DS Smith also left its preferred sectors, paper and packaging, by designing xXL games for children, distributed by Carrefour, starting last March.

DS Smith has set a goal of educating 5 million people about the circular economy by 2030.
