CEE Schisler Packaging Solutions, guaranteed fluorine-free production

French packaging manufacturer CEE Schisler has put in place an action plan to ensure zero fluorine production, getting ahead of the announced end of PFAS in Europe by 2026.

CEE Schisler Packaging Solutions, based in Thouars in the Deux-Sèvres region of France, confirmed in March that it had achieved its goal of zero fluorine by the end of 2023. Committed since 2018 to the fight against eternal pollutants, the French manufacturer of paper and cardboard packaging assures that, since the beginning of the year cups, cardboard pots, paper bags and food papers contain neither fluorine nor PFAS. This is in anticipation of the 2026 regulation on PFAS in Europe.

"Our range of paper-cardboard packaging is guaranteed to comply with national and European Union regulations on food contact and hygiene, and also respects the criteria of the Danish Ban, the only legislation currently in force on PFAS." says David Schisler, President of the 600-employee company.

A four-pronged battle plan

CEE Schisler Packaging Solution has put in place a precise battle plan to permanently eliminate fluorinated chemicals and PFASs from every stage in the manufacture of its products.

This plan is based on four principles: a paper and cardboard supply composed exclusively of pure virgin pulp, with certificates guaranteeing the absence of fluorinated chemicalsâeuros; a manufacturing process that does not involve the use of PFAS, whether for materials or additives such as inks, glues and varnishesâeuros; a ban on fluorine-containing products throughout the production site, from manufacture to dispatch, including cleaning and maintenance products, and regular checks on compliance of raw materials and finished products with Danish legislative criteria.
