Corrugated board: a new wine machine for International Paper's Espaly plant

International Paper strengthens its foothold in the wine sector with the installation of new equipment at its Espaly plant. This latest-generation combination promises greater flexibility, increased packaging customization and a reinforced commitment to sustainability.

The Espaly plant, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, recently acquired one of the most modern production combinations in the sector. This investment is aimed at increasing corrugated packaging production capacity to meet growing demand, particularly in the wine segment. The new equipment stands out for its ability to produce packaging with high-definition print quality. It also offers greater flexibility in formats and designs, meeting the specific needs of wine producers.

The machine offers the possibility of personalizing packaging with 5-color printing, ideal for enhancing brands and guaranteeing optimum visibility. This technology meets the expectations of a market where visual identity plays a key role in product enhancement. What's more, it enables greater responsiveness to variations in demand, an important asset for wine professionals during busy periods such as the festive season.

I'm particularly proud of all the work accomplished by the Espaly teams, which is now bearing fruit. We are delighted to have received the support of the region, which has recognized the importance of our initiative for local economic development and the promotion of sustainable practices. Xavier Freyermuth, General Manager, International Paper Espaly mill

The Espaly facility incorporates technologies guaranteeing eco-responsible production. The packaging produced is entirely recyclable, in line with the requirements of European regulations on the circular economy.
