Xeikon will be showing visitors to Labelexpo, which opens its doors in Barcelona on Tuesday 16th September, the TX300, a small web digital press designed for the food label market.
With this model, as with the TX500 with a 500 mm web width, the Belgian manufacturer transposes its Titon dry toner technology, originally developed for paper-based flexible packaging, to the label sector. Titon offers an alternative to UV inks, combining mechanical resistance and regulatory compliance, without the need for a protective varnish. Print speed is rated at 30 m/min.
Eliminate the varnish step for high-end results
"Titon is ready to revolutionize label production", says Frank Jacobs, Xeikon Product Manager. "Printers can eliminate the often tedious step of varnishing from their production workflow. This technology enables processors to stay one step ahead in terms of food safety and compliance, sustainability and meeting brand expectations."
According to the manufacturer, the first users to migrate from UV inkjet presses to the TX300 report good varnish-free print hold, as well as exceptional paper quality and an elegant matte finish.
"Titon achieves high-end results on coated and uncoated papers, as well as on polypropylene (PP) fronts, without varnish." xeikon assures us.

The press is demonstrated on the Xeikon stand (halls 3E55 and 3G55). The Belgian manufacturer is also taking part in the Label Trail, an initiative bringing together a number of industry players around the themes of sustainability, workflow integration and digital transformation of the graphic arts chain.
