Collateral victim of Gifi's difficulties, L'Atelier Roma disappears

A subsidiary of the Gifi chain, L'Atelier Roma ceased trading last May. On October 20, it held an auction to sell off all its equipment and vehicles.

On October 20, 2025, in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Atelier Roma's equipment was put up for sale on the premises of the printing works in the Lot-et-Garonne region. 144 lots of manufacturing machinery, office furniture and utility vehicles were auctioned in front of an audience of nearly 200 people, reports Sud Ouest .

Atelier Roma, founded in 1984, specialized in the production of advertising media. It had around ten employees at the time of its compulsory liquidation in May 2025.

Run by Pascal Roma since 1997 and founded by his father, the company generated 80% of its sales with a single customer: the Gifi retail group, also based in Villeneuve-sur-Lot.

This commercial dependence led to the company's rapid downfall, according to Sud Ouest, when Gifi embarked on a restructuring process which, last January, involved banks acquiring a stake in the company in return for the write-off of part of its debts and the closure of a dozen stores.

The sale of the equipment brings L'Atelier Roma to a close.
