Five years ago, Tomasso Bux and his business partner took a chance by moving away from traditional printing to focus on digital printing. They then founded Digibux Print, a large-format printing company that now operates a 1,000 m workshop 2 and works primarily with agencies, the events industry, and major clients in central and southern Italy.
The Italian printing company was already working with Agfa and an Anapurna. Faced with a surge in orders, the Italian printing company needed more capacity. The company, which already had an Agfa Anapurna, then turned to the Jeti Bronco H3300 HS, making Digibux Print the first printer in the world to install this 3.3-meter-wide hybrid inkjet press from the Belgian manufacturer.
8 to 10 hours of printing per day
With the arrival of the Jeti Bronco H3300 HS, which reaches 450 m 2 /h; the change in pace was significant. "That's too fast!" ", the executive had said when Agfa asked him for his first impressions after the installation.
It?s worth noting that the old system was used two to three hours a day, whereas the Jeti Bronco now runs eight to ten hours a day. Some production runs even last 16 hours nonstop at a speed of 110 m/h!
Digibux Print's volumes thus increased by 60 to 70 percent. Its revenue is reported to have risen by about 20 percent, despite market conditions that Tomasso Bux described as difficult.
This increase in production has led to new hires in the production department, and Digibux also plans to invest in die-cutting to keep pace with the new press.
Cardboard takes up more space
The Jeti Bronco has also enabled the large-format printer to accept orders that it previously turned down due to volume or deadlines, particularly for sporting events, trade shows, and poster campaigns.
Cardboard is now a growing business. Digibux prints on 200 g/m cardboard 2 , GC1 cardboard (wood-faced on the inside and white on the back), and microflute, used primarily to make counter displays, showcases, and point-of-sale materials.
Thanks to the vacuum system and transport pads, the printer can also print on both sides of plates affected by moisture, warping, or damage caused by shipping, while maintaining registration between the two sides.
Work that was previously outsourced is now being done in-house
With the Jeti Bronco H3300 HS,Digibux Print also prints on PET, polypropylene, honeycomb polypropylene, vinyl, paper, and nonwoven fabric?such as double-sided printed rolls for one-day events like races or car shows.
In addition, Digibux Print has eliminated outsourcing. Certain Plexiglas projects used to be outsourced to third-party vendors when the printing required a high proportion of white space. These projects are now handled in-house.
The printer has a total of 36 print heads and is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC). The Jeti Bronco HS has eight print heads for white ink and features 3-mm print head height adjustment.
More volume, but less ink and less energy
Digibux has also noticed that it uses less ink than with its previous setup. Power consumption has also decreased, even though the workshop is now producing up to four times as much.

"With the Bronco HS now in production, we are positioning ourselves as an industrial manufacturer rather than a small digital printing shop."
