Manroland Goss now has a single owner. Possehl, which already held a 51% stake in the German manufacturer of rotary offset presses, is acquiring the remaining 49% from American Industrial Partners (AIP). The transaction takes effect on October 1.
With this acquisition, AIP is completely divesting itself of its stake in the group, which has approximately 1,000 employees worldwide.
Founded in Lübeck, Germany, in 1847, Possehl has been owned by the nonprofit Possehl Foundation for over a century. The German industrial conglomerate comprises more than 200 entities in some 30 countries and employs approximately 13,000 people across more than 30 countries. Its most recent reported consolidated revenue totaled 8.4 billion euros. Its business activities range from mechanical engineering to precious metal processing, as well as electronics and digital technologies.
"Manroland Goss is an important part of our industrial portfolio, explains Joachim Brenk, Chairman of the Executive Board of L. Possehl & Co . "With this comprehensive acquisition, we are laying a long-term foundation for strategic investment in technology, product development, and support for our installed base. This includes expanding our product portfolio, developing new solutions, and strengthening our service offerings, spare parts supply, and retrofit capabilities."
"For our customers, this means, above all, continuity and predictability when it comes to investments, service, and long-term support for their machines." , says Franz Kriechbaum, CEO of Manroland Goss.
For the time being, no changes have been announced for customers: contracts, terms and conditions, ongoing projects, delivery dates, and service commitments remain unchanged.
The group's current strategy continues to focus on these two areas: the development of new equipment for the packaging, book, commercial printing, and newspaper industries, as well as for digital post-press processing; and the expansion of after-sales solutions.
