Avery Dennison strengthens its position in the badge market with its two UK acquisitions.

Canadian label and packaging solutions group CCL Industries announced Friday the acquisition of two UK-based companies specializing in the smart badge and ID market, ID&C and Identilam.

ID&C and Identilam, which sell directly to the end user, will strengthen the presence in this market of the American adhesive group Avery Dennison, a subsidiary of CCL Industries since 2013.

ID&C is a major player in the badge and wristband segment for events, based in Tunbridge Wells, UK and Bradenton, Florida, with customers in over 100 countries. ID&C sells directly to the end user, both professional and consumer.
Headquartered in Horsham, UK, Identilam designs and develops a range of software solutions for event badges and identification cards as well as digital printing services for customers across Europe.

The amount of these two (unrelated) transactions is approximately C$40 million ('27 million). The combined sales forecast for the 12 months ending March 31, 2020 is approximately $25 million ('17 million) with an estimated adjusted EBITDA of $6 million ('4 million).
