NSC Packaging (Fege and Pakea brands) in receivership

The company, based in Vouziers in the Grand Est region of France, was placed in receivership on 30 April.

The packaging production line manufacturer NSC Packaging, based in Vouziers in the Grand Est (08), was placed in receivership on 30 April. The procedure was launched at the request of the Alsatian group NSC-Schlumberger, owner of the company, reports France Bleu Ardennes .

The group, which has seen its turnover fall by 16% in 2019, believes that NSC Packaging is plummeting its results and has therefore placed it in recovery in order to preserve its cash flow, the media said.

NSC Packaging - formerly named Fege - is a designer and manufacturer of robotic equipment and handling equipment for the end of packaging lines: robotic palletizing island, high-speed dispensers, copacking cell, conveyors for cartons, bottles, pallets and sterilization racks. For the past year, the company has also been managing Pakea, a manufacturer of machines for the production of packaging, cardboard and composite boxes, particularly for the food industry.

In its 2019 financial report, the group states that NSC Packaging experienced an overall 17% decline in its level of activity in 2019.

"Fege faced a decline in orders from its largest pet food customer, which was not offset by new customer acquisition. Pakea's tubes and angles business was down, while the hoped-for impetus for paper beverage straw production lines to replace plastic straws has not yet materialized. In addition, Pakea was condemned in the context of a dispute with a customer over a case delivered in 2012. »

However, according to the employee representatives cited by France Bleu Ardennes, the deterioration in the financial situation is more a matter of the choices made by the NSC group and the company's management.

Listed on the stock exchange, NSC Groupe is specialized in industrial equipment, production lines for the textile industry, packaging, foundry, etc
