Editions Leduc takes over the stationery brand Le Papier fait de la Résistance

The publishing house will integrate the stationery brand in the first quarter of 2021.

The Leduc publishing house (11 million euros in sales in 2019) of the Albin Michel group takes over Le Papier fait de la Résistance, a Lyon paper mill brand created in 2013 by Nicolas Guillemot, Paul and Pierre Marcadé.

Le Papier fait de la Résistance designs and manufactures top-of-the-range notebooks for lovers of writing and creation, paradoxically with entirely digital communication. Profitable from its first year, the brand quickly made a name for itself among professionals by offering a personalization service in small series (20 units) and in large series (more than 20?000 units). The notebooks are printed in Lyon and Barcelona in Spain. Le Papier fait de la Résistance now has collaborations with renowned brands such as Kenzo, Chanel, LVMH, Facebook, Pinterest, Galeries Lafayette and RTL and has a portfolio of approximately 70 references distributed in 10 countries.

"In our professional and sometimes personal paths, we sometimes meet individuals and brands that are particularly close to us in terms of values and DNA", says Pierre-Benoît de Veron, associate director of Leduc Editions, explaining the acquisition of this French craft brand. "As a thumbnail to the digital invasion, of which we can sometimes be the willing victims, we have decided to mount a resistance against the all-digital." he continues.

"Promoting reading and writing, for me, is the same challenge, says Karine Bailly de Robien, Associate Director of Leduc Publishing. Notebooks are the readers' best friends: we write down sentences gleaned in the course of our reading, we try our hand at poetry or prose, we turn to our interiority by writing to get to know each other better..."

Starting in the first quarter of 2021, Leduc will offer three collections of these lined or pre-filled notebooks, which will be available in bookstores for the first time, distributed by the Dilisco teams.
