Malengé Packaging (59) offers 11 100% recyclable barrier packagings

Malengé Packaging continues the development of its recyclable packaging.

First player in the world to have launched a 100% recyclable barrier packaging, Malengé Packaging located in Flers-en-Escrebieux in the North of France, is now expanding its innovative range. Cycle Pack, launched in 2018, is now composed of eleven references, offering different barrier rates and paper types. The company, which specialises in offset printing and the conversion of flexible packaging, has developed these paper packages again in collaboration with the Centre technique du papier (CTP) in Douai.

Eleven Cycle Pack packages have already been developed, notably for players in the food, cosmetics and garden centre sectors, and added to the Malengé Packaging catalogue. These eleven packages are divided into two ranges: paper monomaterials and flexible packaging in paper + PE complex designed with a minimum of 80% paper from virgin fibres. Three types of barriers are proposed: barrier to grease, oxygen and water vapour. They can be heat-sealing, translucent paper, white paper or brown kraft paper.

Up to 40% lighter packaging

In monomaterials or paper-PE complexes, they are all recyclable by the paper/cardboard industry. They are between 15 to 40% lighter than other equivalent materials and also offer a carbon footprint reduced by 15 to 60%.

"This range of packaging enables us to satisfy the growing number of requests from industrialists who want to reduce the environmental impact of their packaging, explains Stefan Kirstetter, Managing Director of Malengé Packaging. By 2023, we plan to shift 65% of our production to the 100% Cycle Pack paper range and 35% to the paper range + PE."

These heat-sealing packages are suitable for various conventional filling and packaging machines. And Malengé Packaging accompanies its customers in the transition from plastic to paper support.

These solutions, marketed exclusively by Malengé, are intended for both food and non-food products. They are particularly suitable for household powders, cooking powders, cosmetics, food supplements, dry biscuits, animal treats, tea, coffee or industrial supplies.

In October 2020, Malengé Packaging was awarded the Food Creativ' prize in the services category, which rewards food industry innovations in the Hauts-de-France region.
