The synthetic paper manufacturer Arjobex announces that it has acquired from the Krishna and Reichert families all the shares of the German special paper and film producer MDV.
Arjobex, which belonged to the Arjowiggins group until July 2019 before being taken over by the French investment fund Prudentia Capital, produces Polyart, a high-end synthetic paper for the printing and label markets. The manufacturer based in Boulogne-Billancourt, the leader in the synthetic paper market in Europe and number three worldwide, has a plant in Rives en Isère, one in Clacton-On-Sea in the United Kingdom and another in North Carolina in the United States. It employs 170 people.
MDV, known for its Fluolux branded fluorescent papers, Robuskin synthetic papers and JetPrint specialty large format inkjet media, operates two coating plants in Germany and a blown HDPE film manufacturing plant in the UK.
Arnaud Roussel, CEO of Arjobex, points out : "MDV fits perfectly with Arjobex's core business, which is to produce specialised media for niche and growing markets. MDV will benefit from Arjobex's strong international sales and marketing network in the US and Asia".
"MDV brings its know-how in specialty coatings with more than 1,000 formulations and new coatings that perfectly match Arjobex's differentiation strategy for its coated films for the graphic and label markets" adds Stéphane Daveau, Deputy General Manager of the new group.
The new group has a turnover of approximately 65 million euros, employs 280 people and has six production sites in Europe and the United States.
