External growth for Mobi Plastic

The manufacturer of plastic bags integrates a company specialized in covering and signage.

The diversification strategy of Mobi Plastic, located in Noisy-le-Sec in the Seine-Saint-Denis region of France, has reached a new level. After equipping itself last September, an Efi hybrid printing press and a cutting table 2.2 million in sales in plastic sleeves with high-frequency welding for the tourism, health, automotive and industrial sectors, has just acquired Atout Pub, a small company that designs, produces and installs signage and vehicle coverings.

Founded in 1987 and located in Tremblay-en-France, Atout Pub has four employees and achieves a turnover of about 250,000 euros. "The employees have 30 years of experience in vehicle marking, says Yann Delagoutte, the head of Mobi Plastic. This market is interesting because there is still demand. Besides, during the lockdown, they still had work."

The business owner, who now employs 14 people, adds: "Our machines are complementary. Atout Pub is well equipped in laminating and lamination and in printing on rolls. And we have digital flatbed printing, which will allow us to develop the entire signage and signage part that will no longer need to be laminated."

Next week, the Atout Pub workshop will be repatriated to the Mobi Plastic site, some 20 kilometers away, with its employees, and the machine park installed in the 200 m² extension built for this purpose.
