Lessebo Paper, the first paper manufacturer to obtain the Gold level of Cradle to Cradle certification

This certification concerns the Lessebo Design and Scandia 2000 ranges.

Sweden's Lessebo Paper is the first paper producer in the world to achieve Gold level Cradle to Cradle certification. This circular economy certification covers the manufacture of the premium uncoated graphic white paper ranges, Lessebo Design and Scandia 2000.

This certification, which consists of five levels - basic, bronze, silver, gold and platinum - is obtained after evaluating production according to five environmental and social performance criteria, namely the safety of the materials used, the reuse of materials, energy consumption, water management and social responsibility.
The lowest level achieved on any of the criteria determines the overall level of certification.

"Being the first paper producer in the world to receive Cradle to Cradle certification at the Gold level for our uncoated paper products is a great achievement and was made possible by our focus on sustainability, says Eric Sigurdsson, CEO of Lessebo Paper. This clearly shows that our paper is one of the most climate-friendly paper grades in the world.

Last November, another Swedish paper mill, Arctic Paper Munkedals, became the first paper mill in the world to receive the Cradle to Cradle Certified . The Arctic Paper Group mill was awarded the bronze level for its entire range of papers (Munken Design, Munken Book, Amber Graphic and Munken Kraft).
