Finat launches a new sustainable development competition

Participation in this contest is free and registration is open until August 31.

"Are you working on initiatives that reduce the use of necessary labeling materials or the waste generated by the production of adhesive labels? Are you implementing processes that facilitate the reuse of labeled containers? Or perhaps you are somehow improving the recycling of labeled containers?" If so, Finat invites you to submit your work to the new sustainability competition it is organizing.

The European self-adhesive label industry association, which since 2014 has offered the Recycling & Sustainability Award competition dedicated only to the recycling of papers and liners, now wants to reward the sustainable practices of as a whole.

"We know that many of our members are already working hard to reduce their environmental impact, and we want to recognize initiatives that make our industry more sustainable." explains Jacques van Leeuwen, chairman of the competition jury and former recycling consultant for Finat.

Entries will be judged by an independent panel of industry representatives. The panel will score the producers' solutions on four criteria: potential impact on the industry, value chain involvement, originality, and track record of initiatives to date.

The competition, 2021 Finat Sustainability Award, which is free of charge, is open to all label converters and labelstock suppliers, as well as brands.
Proposed solutions must have been launched in 2019-2020 to be eligible, and at least one Finat member must be involved in the initiative.

Registration will close on August 31, 2021 at 5 p.m.
