Its new name comes from Greek mythology.

Five years after leaving Arjowiggins Security to join Impala Arjo Solutions, which specializes in the protection of brands and their products, is changing its name to Edgyn.

"This name change marks a new beginning for the company, which has always demonstrated ingenuity in its value proposition, and more specifically in the development of new solutions that are ever more innovative and closer to the needs of our ever-changing customers says Aurélien Tignol, general manager of Edgyn, which employs 50 people.

This new name is inspired by "aegis" or "Aegis" in Latin, the name of the shield of the Greek mythological god Zeus, symbolizing protection.

Arjo Solutions, or rather Edgyn, which since 2015 has been owned by the French Impala Group headed by Jacques Veyrat, when it was founded in 2000, invested in the market for combating fraud, counterfeiting and illicit trade by offering physical solutions used in banknotes in particular. Today, the company integrates digital authenticity and traceability technologies such as material biometrics and is expanding into the pharmaceutical, luxury, wine and spirits markets.
