American paper manufacturer International Paper invests 23 million euros in France

The production capacity of the two French plants will be increased by 50 and 60%.

Looking to increase its packaging production, the Memphis, Tennessee-based International Paper Group will invest 23 million euros in two of its five French plants. The group, which employs 38,000 people worldwide, hopes to meet the growing demand for corrugated boxes and packaging for the e-commerce sector.

The two plants, Société Normande de Carton Ondulé (SNCO), located in Saint-Langis-leeuross-Mortagne in Orne, and Emballages Laurent in Chalon-sur-Saône in Saône-et-Loire, are going to be equipped with new facilities, including new converting lines.
The production capacity will be increased by 60% for SNCO and 50% for Emballages Laurent. 50 jobs should be created.
This work, which began in late 2021, will continue until the second half of 2023.
