With this transaction, UPM's Label Division will add removable self-adhesive paper products to its portfolio.

UPM Raflatac announces that it has signed an agreement to acquire the German-based company Advanced Methods of Coating (AMC). With this acquisition, the label materials business of the Finnish UPM Group aims to accelerate its growth in the label materials business and expand its product offering.

AMC, which has a turnover of 110 million euros, has two production plants located in northern Germany.
The 300-employee company specializes in the coating of self-adhesive laminates, which it operates under the Intercoat brand, as well as in removable self-adhesive stationery products.
These repositionable products are of two types at AMC: Print Inform's removable adhesive papers, which are blank sticky notes for printers, and Global Notes products sold under private label and under the INFO brand. Global Notes is the world's second largest manufacturer of self-adhesive notes and other self-adhesive products for the office, school, home, etc.

UPM Raflatac expects to accelerate AMC's growth and benefit from significant synergies.
"The acquisition will strengthen our position in Central Europe and expand our offering to new self-adhesive product lines. AMC's capabilities and business portfolio are a perfect fit for us, says Antti Jääskeläinen, Executive Vice President of UPM Raflatac, in a statement. With UPM Raflatac's efficient supply chain and sales and distribution network, we will continue to grow AMC."

Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The transaction is still subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close no later than the third quarter of 2022.
