Label manufacturer UPM Raflatac expands its offering with the arrival of Germany's AMC

With the addition of AMC's two production sites, UPM Raflatac expects to accelerate its growth, especially through synergies.

UPM Raflatac has completed the acquisition of Advanced methods of coating (AMC), which was announced in May. The 3,000-employee label materials manufacturer expects to achieve "important synergies" thanks to this external growth.

AMC employs more than 300 people and has a turnover of 110 million Euros operating two factories in Germany.
Its production is organized into three business units, Intercoat, which includes self-adhesive laminates based on plastic films for the printing, advertising and label industries, Global Notes, which is the world's second-largest manufacturer of self-adhesive notes and other self-adhesive products for the office, school and home, and Print Inform, which specializes in paper coating with its own water-based and repositionable adhesive.

With this merger, UPM Raflatac is expanding its product range with these new products and intends to accelerate its growth.

"We are delighted that the transaction is now complete and we can begin to grow together in the attractive specialty packaging value chain and offer an even stronger product portfolio to our customers." says Antti Jääskeläinen, Executive Vice President of UPM Raflatac.
