Monotype's catalog now includes typefaces by French foundry Blaze Type

Thanks to this alliance with a major player in the typography sector, the designs of Lyon-based Blaze Type will be distributed on a new scale.

Font design and technology giant Monotype has announced a partnership with Blaze Type, a prestigious French foundry. Founded in 2016 by Matthieu Salvaggio, the Lyon-based company's clients include such internationally renowned names as creative agencies Ogilvy, & Walsh and Graphéine, French publishing house Éditions de la Martinière, search engine Google, American video game publisher Riot Games and Swedish ready-to-wear retailer H&M.

The partnership with Blaze Type now gives American Monotype customers access to the Blaze Type typographic library. This library comprises some fifty typefaces, mainly variable fonts. These include Apoc, an elegant typeface family; Slussen, a neo-grotesque font; Digital Sans, a geometric typeface family; Nuances, a modern serif typeface family; and Taklobo, a very thick serif typeface.

"Our collaboration with Monotype, a historic company in our sector, opens up promising horizons for the future of typographic design. This partnership, more than simply expanding the distribution of our fonts, is perfectly in line with our mission to provide designers with tools that stimulate creativity and push back the boundaries of design." said Matthieu Salvaggio, font designer and founder of Blaze Type.
