Mimaki JV200-160, the new roll-to-roll printer for eco-solvent signage

This new 1.60-meter wide JV200-160 large-format press completes Mimaki's entry-level offering for signage production.

At Fespa Global Print Expo 2025, May 6-9, Mimaki will be presenting its new eco-solvent roll-to-roll printer, the JV200-160, for the first time. Developed for the production of high-quality flexible signage, the JV200-160 is an entry-level model while incorporating several features from the Japanese manufacturer's higher-end ranges.

The JV200-160, an entry-level high-speed printer

Capable of reaching a production speed of 17 m 2 /h, one of the highest in its class, the JV200-160 follows in the footsteps of the JV200-160 cJV200 series launched last October . Unlike the latter, this model is dedicated exclusively to printing, with no on-board cutting module. It's designed for workshops already equipped with cutting plotters", explains Arjen Evertse, Sales Manager at Mimaki Europe.

New inks and production-oriented features

Another special feature of this model is its compatibility with the recently introduced SS22 ecosolvent inks, which boast an estimated 40% reduction in odour compared with the previous generation. These inks do not contain gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), an increasingly regulated solvent. In addition, SS21 and BS4 inks remain compatible, offering several configurations according to durability and cost requirements.

The JV200-160 boasts numerous features designed to boost production, such as the DAS (Dot Adjustment System), which automates dot adjustment, and the Ink Saving mode, which reduces ink consumption while preserving natural tones.
The roll-to-roll printer also integrates the PICT (Printer Information Cloud Technology) cloud platform, designed to optimize consumables management and remote monitoring.
The JV200-160 is also compatible with the ID Cut function, enabling the machine to be connected to a Mimaki cutting plotter to automate the print-to-cut workflow.
