Cibem closes its wooden food packaging plant

Compagnie Industrielle des Bois et Emballages (Cibem) is to cease operations for good at Saint-Pierre-en-Auge in Calvados, announced the Snec group on Tuesday, September 30, 2025... The plant, founded in 1885, specializes in wooden camembert boxes and food trays, and employs 104 people.

Cibem had benefited from 25 million euros of investment, which did not pay off "not enough to offset a loss of competitiveness and a steady decline in orders ".
