AB Graphic adds an inkjet module to its finishing lines

ABG unveils a new monochrome UV inkjet bar, designed for printing variable data, tactile effects or Braille, which can be integrated into its finishing lines as well as third-party equipment.

British manufacturer AB Graphic International (ABG) continues to develop its inkjet solutions with the launch of a monochrome printhead, aptly named ABG InkJet. Designed for direct integration into the manufacturer's Digicon, Converter, SRI and B5010 finishing lines, this print bar can also be fitted to third-party equipment, thanks to its compact format and adaptable interface.

The ABG InkJet module is a black UV inkjet unit, offering 360 or 720 DPI resolution as required.
It can be configured for different widths, enabling it to be used on both narrow-width lines and semi-industrial plants. The absence of tools when changing consumables helps reduce operating costs.

The ABG InkJet module enables applications ranging from sequential numbering and variable data printing to pharmaceutical marking, barcodes and multilayer labels. It can also print directly on the label's adhesive layer.

The standard configuration can be combined with the fleyeVision automatic inspection system developed by ABG. This device checks print quality on-line, reducing the risk of rejects and guaranteeing production consistency over long production runs.

The same inkjet engine is used to power a second module, this time dedicated to the application of high-relief varnish. Marketed under the name ABG Braille, this device is capable of producing Braille text and tactile pictograms in compliance with current standards in the health and food sectors.

InkJet and Braille modules are produced at the Baesweiler plant in Germany, where an open house has been announced for April 15 and 16, 2026. This event, aimed at technical partners and customers, will serve as a showcase for future innovations.

Michael Leidgschwendner, Managing Director of ABG and responsible for the inkjet project, assures us: " The new inkjet range represents a major step forward, offering our customers a versatile, high-performance solution that is perfectly integrated with any ABG system and third-party equipment."
