Sitma, Italian manufacturer of packaging and sorting equipment, launches PackHub, an automatic packaging system for order picking. The manufacturer, part of the Tecnau group, is targeting e-commerce and logistics production with this new machine.
PackHub automates the feeding, positioning and labeling of envelopes. The system has been designed to reduce repetitive tasks while maintaining ease of use. PackHub could halve the packaging time required for each order. It can be integrated into existing workflows without requiring a complete overhaul.
The PackHub system is based on a hopper with a capacity of 500 prefabricated kraft or recycled paper envelopes or bags, to ensure continuous feeding with high buffer capacity and minimal operator intervention. The envelopes are then automatically separated and oriented for easy product insertion.
A vacuum holding station stabilizes the pouch (up to 550 x 400 x 130 mm) during filling. Labeling is carried out in-line via an integrated module that prints and applies labels.
The compact, mobile chassis (with castors) allows installation in confined spaces and easy repositioning in the workshop.
"PackHub has been developed to offer a practical automation solution for companies wishing to increase their packaging productivity without completely rethinking their workflow." explains Stefano De Marco, CEO of Sitma. "By automating the most repetitive tasks while keeping operator interaction simple and intuitive, PackHub helps companies to efficiently optimize their logistics operations."
