Sopano continues to consolidate its business in self-adhesive labels. The group, based in Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf in Seine-Maritime, has made two new acquisitions: Cotentin Étiquettes, based in Carentan-les-Marais in the Manche department, and ELC Étiquettes, located near Limoges in Haute-Vienne. Both transactions were carried out in collaboration with Apex Développement, Sopano?s financial arm.
Founded by Cédric Fortin and Jérôme Pautret, Cotentin Étiquettes has seen its revenue grow from 1.3 million in 2014 to over 3 million euros today. This growth has been accompanied by investments in its production equipment, notably in a Bobst DM340 all-in-one digital press, which was installed in 2023.
The second acquisition involves ELC Étiquettes, led by Christophe Seguin. The printing company, founded in 2000, produces labels using flexographic, letterpress, and digital printing, including a Xeikon LX3000 toner press.
These two instances of external growth come a few months after the acquisition, last January, of Sud-Ouest Numérique , in Canéjan, in the Gironde department. Specializing in adhesive labels, this printing plant had enabled Sopano to establish a presence in the Southwest for the first time. At the time, Sopano reported revenue of 35 million euros and said it employed about 100 people.
The group also had two other locations: the historic printing plant in Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf in Seine-Maritime, and JPC Étiquettes in Carvin, Pas-de-Calais, acquired in 2022, which employs 25 people. The two new acquisitions therefore bring its network to five locations.
