A new color or typeface to discover every day. With their 2027 editions, Pantone and Typodarium have adapted the tear-off calendar concept into two graphic designs aimed at both graphic design enthusiasts and professionals.
Pantone offers its color swatch books in calendar format
This is the first year Pantone has launched a calendar. Designed in partnership with the American publisher Workman Publishing, the Pantone Page-A-Day Gallery Calendar 2027 draws on the visual style of the American brand?s famous color guides. Each page features a Pantone color in a minimalist layout that lets the color take center stage.
Printed in four-color process on coated paper, the calendar comes in a clear acrylic case that also serves as a stand to display the current day?s card on a desk. At the end of June, flip the stack of cards over to reveal the other colors for the year.
Pantone has also released this calendar in two wall-mounted versions, including a miniature version.

Typodarium 2027: A Different Typeface Every Day
In the same vein, the Typodarium calendar has, for many years, featured a daily spotlight on typefaces. Each day showcases a different font, offering a glimpse into the diversity of contemporary typography.

Edited by Lars Harmsen and Raban Ruddigkeit, *Typodarium 2027*?which is in English?brings together 370 designs from 42 countries and gives special attention to fixed-width fonts, also known as monospace fonts. These fonts consist of characters that are all exactly the same width (including the ?i,? ?l,? and ?w?). Historically associated with typewriters and later with computer programming, these monospaced fonts are now finding new applications in graphic design.
Measuring 8.5 × 12 cm, Typodarium 2027 features colorful, double-sided, detachable sheets and comes in a cardboard box printed in three spot colors with a bronze finish.

With 365 pages to discover throughout the year, these two calendars highlight two fundamentals of graphic design: color and typography.
