The Shutterstock photo and video platform unveils in its 9th annual report the creative trends that will influence the aesthetics of graphic design and marketing in 2020.

This report is based on the analysis of data from billions of keyword searches on Shutterstock by marketers, social media, video producers and graphic designers. It is an overview of creative trends for the coming year that can also serve as a source of inspiration for creative and marketing projects in 2020," says Shutterstock.

The three main creative trends for 2020 are: Roaring Twenties 2020, "Occult" and In Full Bloom.

1 - The Roaring Twenties

A century later, the sumptuous and boisterous 1920s are back on the world stage.
English searches for "gold pattern" increased by 4223% in 2019 compared to 2018, "retro the 20s" increased by 189% and "geometric lines" +106% compared to the previous year.

2 - Occult

Alternative beliefs and secular beliefs enchant Generation Y, Generation Z, and Generation Alpha.

Customers search for keywords such as "magic" and "spiritual", up 525% and 289% respectively over the previous year.

3 - In full bloom

"Forget about elegant arrangements and delicate displays!" warn Shutterstock. The fashion will be for large, shimmering, floral visuals in full bloom. Photography with bold still lifes and images of flower landscapes, typography teeming with plant life continue to gain popularity.

The surge in research (+141%) for "flowering landscape" and the 136% increase in "flowering" demonstrate this strong trend.
